In the program workshops that take place over the course of most of a year, much of the activity will be seasonal. So in the early spring, activities will include getting seeds started, while later in the season, activities like pruning, harvesting, drying herbs, seed saving, and other activities will be done. Weather plays a role, but every weekend group activity will include a component in the garden.
In the short workshops, which take place on a single day or for a few hours only, activities will typically focus on a single topic, skill or activity, like herb drying, tinctures, etc. In these instances, activities will take place out of doors, and depending on the nature of the workshop, may take place partly in the garden and/or partly in the shade of an open, outdoor structure.
