Weeds can be a cancer in the garden. Despite tending to the areas that are productive, there are often places in the garden less well tended to where weeds get out of hand.
It is important to both tackle those areas as well as not to invest too much importance to them. It is important to tackle those areas - the earlier the better - before the weeds set seed and proliferate. But it is also important to retain a sense of balance - the garden as a whole is a place of respite, so one unsightly section should not obtain an out of proportion emotional weight.
This is equally true for people living with challenging health conditions - to prioritise life over the condition they must endure. Enjoy the garden over the weeds; and attend to the weeds, but retain sight of the garden.
